Welcome to Clarity Therapy and Counselling Centre!

My name is Sabiha Faruqui and I am the Clinical Director of Clarity Therapy and Counselling Centre. I am an Occupational Therapist and Psychotherapist and have over 13 years of expertise in the area of Mental Health.

I completed my Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University in 2009. I have worked for several hospitals in the Greater Toronto Area including Trillium Health Partners, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and Humber River Hospital.

I have significant experience helping people with anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, stress and relationship issues. I have training in, and utilize strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Approaches as well as Motivational Interviewing. I offer services to people ages 16+, however I have significant experience working with youth and emerging adults ages 16-29.

I am glad you are reaching out for support. I know that it is not easy to take this step, and that it takes a lot of courage. I also know that the challenges of life can be difficult to navigate alone. I truly believe that anyone would benefit from the support of a therapist and psychotherapy to get through difficult times as well as to build skills and abilities to maintain emotional health, well-being and resilience throughout life. I believe that positive mental health is as essential as physical health on well being. I practice in a person-centred way which means that your needs are at the center of the way that I deliver therapy, and my approach will be personalized to your needs. I am committed to providing a warm, non-judgemental space in which you will feel comfortable sharing your feelings, thoughts and difficulties.
